HAIKU The Haiku poetry form originates in Japan. Most commonly it has three lines of seventeen syllables: 5 - 7 - 5. Traditionally, Haikus are observations of nature and the seasons and do not have titles. Westerners usually miss the point and use the form for their own perverted reasons.
